The Handweavers and Spinners 8 Shaft Certificate Weaving course will run in intensive mode as a 2 x 12 week ‘Monday School’ from Feb. 2016. This course provides weavers with 4 Shaft experience an excellent grounding in 8 Shaft woven structure and design. 2016 Dates: 12 Mondays: February 15th – May 9. (Folio due for assessment June 20th.)Time: 9.30am – 4.30pm Cost: Members $1,120.00 Non Members $1,210.00 (Includes $80.00 Material Fee) Payable in 3 installments. Alternative payment plans also available by arrangement.Venue: Guild Rooms, 655 Nicholson Street, North Carlton.

8 Shaft Program: Feb – May 2016 (June Assessment). Introduction to Multi-Shaft Weaving, Twill theory and variations, Brocade theory and design, Honeycomb and undulated weaves, Damask design and pick up, Double weave, 6 block Summer and Winter, Laces, Cell weaves and Pique. Design and production of an 8 shaft article. Exploration of Yarn, Fibres, Finishes and Costing.
Looms may be hired for $50 if required, or you may bring your own loom (min 8 shafts).
